I don't know why I drew this. Something about that tree. Every evening I noticed how this one tree looked so... uh, special or something, especially during sunset. Finally, on my last night in Aruba, I made this sketch and inked it in. It looks kind of grayish--that's because I didn't try to process this drawing too much. It's a straight scan of the drawing, rough edges and all. This drawing reminds me of the haunting peacefulness I found at times in Aruba, whenever I got away from those horrible watersleds! Oh, and here's a fun fact: All the trees in Aruba are at a slant, and all in the same direction! It's that incessant wind that causes this unique characteristic. Really. |
