Lucica is the name of a beach near the piazza in Nerezine. It appears
to be a favorite among the youngest visitors here. Children will learn
here that they can play together, screaming with incessant glee, despite the fact that
they are speaking in German, Slovakian, Croatian, Italian, and, occasionally, even in
English. This beach was a high point of the ten days I spent here.
The ship repair yard occupied my narrow focus when I first arrived. The children were jumping around too much for me to try to draw them. (Drawing incorrectly dated as 2/26/03--it was made 7/26/03.) |
